About Me

I am a software developer whose career has been shaped by profound transitions across disciplines, industries, and technologies. From studying FORTRAN IV in 1978 at the Moscow Engineering Physics Institute, a premier Cold War-era institution, to building a career in corporate governance and finance during the transformative years following the collapse of the Soviet Union, I’ve consistently adapted to change. Interestingly, each new skill I've acquired has eventually found its purpose.

Over the years, I’ve consistently adapted to technological change, teaching myself HTML and CSS in 2000 to create business-oriented web solutions. In 2018, I returned to technology through Georgia Tech’s OMSCS program, completing courses in Artificial Intelligence, Deep Learning, and Database Systems, which rekindled my passion for software development. Even when the war in Ukraine forced me to rebuild my life in the UK, I saw this challenge as an opportunity to modernise my technical skill set.

Most recently, I’ve advanced my expertise in web development and cloud technologies through the ITOL program. I’ve applied these skills to practical projects, from developing a Project Management System in Django to building React applications, while earning Azure (AZ-900) and AWS (CLF-C02) foundational certifications. These experiences have empowered me to design efficient solutions (occasionally cloud-based) and create tools that are both functional and user-friendly.

What sets me apart is not just my technical knowledge but my ability to transform it into real-world value. My journey demonstrates a lifelong pattern: the skills I’ve acquired have been deliberately applied to address practical challenges, always finding ways to bridge the gap between technology and real-world needs. I’m excited to bring this unique combination of resilience, adaptability, and modern development practices to impactful projects in the UK tech sector.
